Opportunity
An immediate full-time General Anesthesiologist job opening is available, covering a diverse case mix including obstetrics (OB), pediatrics, regional anesthesia, trauma, and outpatient surgery. The position offers a manageable call schedule of 1:6 with a post-call day off, typically coming in at 1 PM on post-call days.
Responsibilities
Provide and manage anesthesia for a wide variety of surgical and obstetrical procedures, including trauma cases. Conduct thorough pre-anesthesia patient evaluations and develop individualized anesthetic plans. Administer general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care utilizing current techniques and medications. Continuously monitor patient vital signs and adjust anesthetic delivery to ensure patient safety and optimal surgical conditions. Manage emergence from anesthesia and provide appropriate post-anesthesia care. Participate in a call schedule of 1:6 with a post-call day off (typically starting at 1 PM). Maintain accurate and complete patient records in accordance with practice policies and procedures. Collaborate effectively with surgeons, pediatricians, obstetricians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to all safety protocols.
Qualifications
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree. Board certification in Anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA) or the American Osteopathic Board of Anesthesiology 1 (AOBA) or board-eligible. Current unrestricted medical license in Florida (or eligibility for licensure). Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications. Strong clinical skills and the ability to manage a diverse patient population and case mix, including trauma. Proficiency in a variety of anesthetic techniques, including general and regional anesthesia. Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
