Boulder Valley Anesthesiology (BVA) is one of the few independent private practice anesthesia groups left in Colorado and we have no intention of selling. With the mountains just west of us and downtown Denver nearby, there is no shortage of ways to spend the off days! We believe that we can best serve our communities and patients by being physician-led, patient-centered, and locally owned. Founded in 1989, BVA has grown from a being a three person group to what is now comprised of more than 50 physicians. BVA has deep ties to the Boulder community having served an exclusive contract to Boulder Community Hospital (now Boulder Community Health) for the past several decades. We also cover numerous ASCs in the Boulder, Lafayette, and Broomfield area. BVA has partnered with UCHealth to provide coverage in Longmont and Broomfield.. Our group values clinical excellence, integrity, transparency, compassion, collegiality, and highly prioritizes work-life balance. As a result of new contracts, growth at existing sites, and some staffing changes, we have several positions the right candidate may consider; a 2-year full-time partnership track, extended partnership-tracks for part-time, employee tracks with or without call. The ideal candidate wants to live and work in the communities we serve as our nightly call back shift makes longer commutes less feasible. We have a varied case mix covering all types of anesthesia with a large volume of ortho cases. We benefit from having a healthy and active patient population at most locations. Our current, greatest, need for coverage is in Longmont and Broomfield though hires can, at their discretion, opt into work at other sites. We aim to minimize commutes between facilities on any given day. Most of our facilities are located within 20 miles of each other and traffic is mild compared to larger cities. Weekend, weekday call, and daily assignments are shared amongst the group. Physician will also have equal access to vacation (8-10 weeks). We utilize a time-based compensation model with a blended unit with case load varying from day to day based on randomized numerical assignment in EZCall. Our typical call schedule is usually 1-1.5 of each call shifts per month (in-house and backup) with a weekend rotation every 7-8 weeks.
