Job Description
●60 bed facility running 3 ORs plus 1 procedure room daily. The hospital has 4 OR’s but runs 3 a day.
●The anesthesia staff is an all CRNA group and consists of 6 CRNAs fully staffed. Currently they have 5 CRNA’s. Scheduling: 5 CRNA’s on daily. 3 CRNA’s covering the OR, 1 covers the procedure room and 1 one floats. The staff CRNA’s are currently working post call day upon bringing in a locum, the staff CRNA’s will go back to post call day off.
●The CRNAs do their own spinals, regional anesthesia for ortho cases and labor epidurals. The facility will work with the locum provider on their regional skill set providing this information is shared at the time of presentation. Types of cases: Average 400 cases/month (or 20 a day) to include eyes. Gen, Ortho, GYN, ENT, urology, Eyes. Cases really vary. Someday there may be 30 cases on (eyes). Someday 12. 40% of the case mix is general. 40% is Ortho, the other 20% is GYN, ENT, urology, and eyes. Cataracts 2x month. OB: 30-40 deliveries per month. Approximately 3-4 c sections a week (varies). A good % of deliveries do receive labor epidurals. Anesthesia does not have to stay in house when the epidural is running. General Information: Duration of this assignment: ASAP through end of May. This facility prefers as much coverage as possible from one provider but is flexible and willing to fill with 2 providers if needed. If the provider would like to cover all weeks, that is ideal. The hospital is also open to a provider working 3 weeks on / 1 week off. If this is the rotation, the facility is asking for the ability to talk to the provider about the off week and working with other staff time off, etc. The facility is also receptive to filling with 2 providers; one working 2 weeks a month and the other working the other 2 weeks a month. EMR system: Meditech Call obligations: Ideally, the hospital would like the locum CRNA to participate in week night and weekend call. Labor epidural skills are required if the provider takes call. Call will average 1:6 week night and every 6th weekend. Call response time is 20 minutes. The locum provider will work post call day. Facility will work with the out time on post call day depending on the call night activity. The hospital is receptive to a provider that does not want to take call but this needs to be communicated at the time of presentation. Daily schedule/ cut times: Cut time is 7:30am daily. CRNA’s arrive at the hospital at 6:30am. Each CRNA sees their first patient of the day at 6:45am followed by the surgeon with first cut times no later than 7:30am. Daily schedule: 6:30am -3:00pm. ½ hour unpaid lunch break provided. The staff really does try to give each provider a lunch break. Should this break not be provided, the locum provider is to log in actual hours worked. Locum Reimbursement:
●Weekday compensation is $250.00/hr. with an 8 hour daily minimum. Any hours worked over 8 hours/day (overtime) will be compensated at $265.00/hr to be rounded to the nearest 15 minute increments.
